Urban greetings

Am off now for Christmas and New Year, so season's greetings from me and all at Centre for Cities.

We'll be back in January, with our Into Recession report on Leeds, Brighton and Bristol - and Cities Outlook 2009
is launched on the 26th, with James Purnell.

Oh, and I reckon there could well be a general election in 09. I'm still in the minority - people like John Rentoul seem to agree, but Nick Robinson is more sceptical. Why 09? Basically, the economy is going to get a lot worse before it gets better - so Gordon should call an election sooner rather than later. Why not? Labour are still (just) behind in the polls, and not yet in a winning position.

In the meantime, here's my favourite new urban landmark - it's actually a car park in Sheffield....
